CHAP

HCAF is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with the Community Health Accreditation Program (http://www.chapinc.org) for significant savings to our members seeking accreditation. The savings available are substantial (remembering, too that CHAP fees are already below those charged by JCAHO). Here are the savings:

  1. CHAP will charge an application fee to HCAF members that is 20% below the fee paid by home health agencies in the state of Florida that are not members of HCAF;
  2. CHAP will charge a reduced annual fee to HCAF’s members that represents 12% off the CHAP annual fee in use at the time of the contract;
  3. CHAP will charge a reduced site visit fee of 8% off the CHAP site visit fee then in use.

 

CHAP will make available to HCAF one copy of the OASIS Benchmark report, with a comparison for HCAF members only, once 10 or more certified home health agencies have become accredited.  This will provide members with valuable data which will help members determine their level of efficiency.

 

CHAP will provide to HCAF one "Accreditation Workshop" per year at cost, and will be available for any additional presentations that are requested by HCAF. The cost and revenue of these additional presentations will be shared equally by CHAP and HCAF.

 

Accreditation is more important than ever now that AHCA is fully supportive of "deemed status".  HHAs can get accredited, obtain "deemed status" and avoid double surveys. In addition, third party payers still look to accreditation in many cases when selecting a provider.
